Adversarial v Inquisitorial – Letter to HB Today

When I look at the decision made by Justice Chisholm with respect to having an independent expert assess the TRIM model (Dam inquiry hearings to spill into 2014, 12/11/13) it is obvious that this is an adversarial process, not an inquisitorial process as implied by the use of the name Board of Inquiry. May the best, and most expensive lawyers win. It would seem that that the board is stuck between a rock and a hard place because of time restraints. I have to ask, does this make for a good robust process in which we can have absolute confidence?
